Air Dry
Waxed solution added to unwaxed polyester and vinyl ester resins and gelcoats to achieve a tack-free surface suitable for sanding. Commonly used in final coat, 3% by volume.
Release Wax
Excellent release
characteristics
are achieved when used
with PVA. We recommend that new moulds are coated with four layers
before use. Apply two coats of wax, buff off the excess, and allow
to stand for an hour before applying the last two coats to give
solvents extra time to evaporate so a tougher wax barrier develops.
Available in Honey Wax 14oz or Mirror Glaze 11oz.
Catalysts
Hardener for
polyester, casting, tooling, ISO resins as well as gelcoats.
Catalyst Hardener MEK 50%
Available in 28ml, 56ml, 250ml, 8lb (50%), 7lb (30%)
Acetone
Acetone is a very powerful solvent which will clean fibreglass boats, act as a solvent for epoxy and polyester resin to clean tools and equipment, remove most old adhesives and dissolve most plastics such as polystyrene, polyesters, cellulose acetates, ABS.
Urathane Foam
2 Part Foam used for flotation and lightweight (R5 to R7) insulation - 2 lb density. 1 lb. of Part A and 1 lb. of Part B mixed foam will fill one cubic foot space - 2 lb. Per cubic foot density.
Styrene
Styrene is the recommended and accepted thinner for polyester resins and gelcoats. Most gelcoats can be thinned 2-5% to make them suitable for ordinary spray equipment or other special purposes.
PVA Liquid
PVA should be used to aid in the release of parts from a mould.
